Smart Candle Bulb | Frequently Asked Questions

My bulb isn't flashing rapidly, what do I do?

If your light bulb does not flash rapidly straight out of the box, you need to complete the reset procedure as shown in the video above.

Firstly, insert the bulb into the light fitting of choice and ensure the power is switched on.

Then, turn the power to the bulb off and back on 3x with a brief pause (about 1+s) in between each switch to allow the bulb to power up and power down, you should then see the bulb begin to start flashing which shows it is ready to pair.

The sequence is illustrated below:

Off – 1s Pause – On – 1s Pause – Off – 1s Pause – On – 1s Pause – Off – 1s Pause - On

My bulb is flashing slowly, what does this mean?

If your bulb is flashing slowly, this indicates your bulb is in AP pairing mode. You can either complete the reset procedure for the device, or you can simply use AP mode to pair the bulb. To do this you need to follow the steps below.

1. Tap the small  + icon in the top right corner of the app.

2. Select the device you wish to add.

3. Once you select the bulb, tap 'EZ Mode' in the top right corner.

4. Follow the steps on screen to complete your pairing.

Can I group more than one bulb together?

Yes you can create a group of bulbs so that they can all act as one.

You do this by clicking into a smart candle bulb on the hey app, then select the pencil icon in the top right-hand corner and select ‘create group’.

You then select the products you want to be in the group and name the group something recognisable.

Can my candle bulb react to music?

As long as you have the hey! app open when you have the 'music' option on.

The bulbs will react to music using the microphone on your smartphone.

Do I need to leave the power to bulbs always switched on?

We recommend leaving the switches to the bulbs to be left on, otherwise you will find the bulbs may go back into their pairing modes. The bulbs use very little energy when off via our app but still on via switches. Just enough to keep them connected to your Wi-Fi!
